Skincare Instructions
#Skinimalism means going back to basics, seeing what actually works for your specific skin (not just your skin type). Does your skin need 14 steps, not necessarily, but cosmetic companies makes lots of money from convincing you that you do! I find that I sometimes need a cleanser, my acid serum and my moisturising oil but some times I need a bit more, then I scrub with my cotton round and use a clay mask or use the balm as an overnight mask. Here's what you need to know:
Balm (coming soon)
Our make-up balm is amazing. It moisturises, cleans and nourishes, as you may need it! It works on the principle that oil dissolves oil, so you replace the dirty oil with clean oil, thereby not breaking the skin's natural barrier. Oil also dissolves make-up much better than make-up remover. The balm also has an emulsifier included meaning the wonderful balm blends with water into a lather making it easier to wash off.
-
To remove make-ups:
-
Spread over face with fingers and rub gently to dissolve the make-up, then remove with a scrubbie or face cloth and wash with a cleansing bar.
-
-
To moisturise:
-
Moisturisers should be used as necessary, for those days when your skin needs extra attention.
-
Use a small amount and rub between your hands to melt the essential oils.
-
Press onto your face to create a skin barrier.
-
Wait a few minutes and use a tissue pressed lightly on your face to absorb any excess oils.
-
-
To exfoliate:
-
mix with a bit of oat flour into a paste as an exfoliator or with some kaolin clay for the same effect.
-

Natural Cleansing Bars
-
To wash your face:
-
Wet your skin with lukewarm water (not hot! As it will dehydrate your skin!).
-
Rub soap between hands to build up a nice lather.
-
Wash your face and neckline (you can even include your bust) in quick round motions.
-
Rinse off.
-
If you wear makeup you can do a second cleanser or use the makeup removal balm and follow with the cleansing bar to ensure stubborn makeup is removed for clean pores.
-

100% Cotton Facial Rounds:
-
For extra exfoliation use one of the 100% cotton facial rounds.
-
Rub soap on facial round and wash face in a circular motion.
-
BE GENTLE! While facial rounds are so much more gentle than synthetic exfoliators, still be gentle to avoid small tears.
-
-
Allow to dry between washes, after a few it is a good idea to was with antibacterial soap (similar as with your make-up brushes), especially if you have problem skin.
-
Rounds are made from 100% cotton and may therefore lose some colour or shape, but this will not affect its effectiveness.

Clay mask
-
Use a clay masks that is 100% Kaolin Clay as it is fantastic to help prevent acne, managing dry skin, and absorbing excess oil or sebum.
-
Use 1 to 2 times a week.
-
Take a small spoonful, mix with equal amount of water or Hydrosol, until a smooth paste is formed.
-
Paint onto face and allow to dry for a few minutes.
-
Rinse well.
-

Serums and Oils
-
After cleansing, while your skin is still damp, you should apply your facial serum to help retain moisture. Use a toner or a Hydrosol spray to moisten your skin, if you have dried it too much.
-
If you are using the Hyaluronic Acid serum, use this first to moisturise then follow with an Oil Serum to lock in moisture.
-
Use the dropper to add about 3 to 4 drops (or less as necessary) to your hands (more if you are also using for your neck and bust). NB: Never allow the dropper to touch your hands or face as it may cause bacteria to enter the oil.
-
Rub between your hands and then press in quick motions to your face (Avoid rubbing the oil into your face as this may damage your skin by stretching it and over time cause wrinkles.)
-
DID YOU KNOW: that facial oils also make great primer before you do your makeup!

Sunscreen
-
Always wear sunscreen during the day, irrespective of your skincare routine, this should be non-negotiable, as sun damage is irreversible.
